About The Position

The Aircraft Sheetmetal Mechanic I will ensure that all work accomplished is in accordance with current FAA approved technical data. Adheres to quality maintenance standards in accordance with the company’s Repair Station Manual/Quality Control Manual (RSM/QCM) and other applicable manuals such as company and regulatory guidance materials. This includes Airworthiness Directives Ads, AMM Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, SRM Structural Repair Manual, Engineering Orders, Engineering Authorizations while performing structural repair, replacement, and modification of airframe structure and other sheetmetal components. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol testing. Responsible for reviewing work assigned, obtaining tools and necessary parts, and completing the job in a timely manner following the applicable manuals without sacrificing quality or safety. Ensure that all routine, non-routine, and customer request work cards are correctly completed and properly signed off. Verify calibrated tooling used is current and properly noted on paperwork. Ensure that employees are always kept safe by following the company’s written policies regarding environmental health and safety. Maintain the premises in a clean and organized manner. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other management personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 0- 3 years of experience
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, verification of credentials, and a urinary preemployment test for drugs as per DOT regulations.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work products.
  • Have mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools safely.
  • Read and understand drawings and engineering data.
  • Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs.
  • Normal or corrected vision and hearing is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Large commercial aircraft experience preferred.
  • Depending on location, you may be required to pass the required background checks for TSA FBI etc. to obtain an airport issued badge such as SIDA, AOA, or any other badge required by the airport authority.
