About The Position

Axxeum, Inc. is seeking a skilled Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to support our aviation maintenance and modification operations. This role involves precision fabrication, repair, and modification of aircraft structures using various tools, equipment, and blueprints. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, a strong understanding of OEM manuals, and expertise in corrosion control practices.

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe license preferred; A&P license desired.
  • Minimum 12 years of aircraft structural systems repair experience, preferably with rotary-wing aircraft.
  • Strong understanding of OEM manuals and technical orders.
  • Experience in corrosion control, including removal and treatment.
  • Familiarity with commercial, OEM, and military technical manuals.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively with team members, customers, and management.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Walking moderate to long distances may be required.
  • Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull/move items frequently over 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to lift/carry/push/pull/move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Candidates should be able to adapt to environments listed.
  • There may be exposure to high noises, exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents, and Personal Protection Equipment may be required for certain tasks.
  • This position must be able to work comfortably outdoors and may be exposed to hot/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • A background check and drug screen is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute aviation sheet metal work based on blueprints, models, and specifications.
  • Set up and operate sheet metal machines, including saws, drills, lathes, milling machines, and forming equipment.
  • Install STCs, TSOs, and prototype equipment while performing modifications and repairs on rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Cut, bend, shape, rivet, and assemble sheet metal components using appropriate hand tools and machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support operational needs.
