In the Aircraft Repair Mechanic role you will perform rework operations in accordance with approved technical data and routing to repair flight hardware for return to service. This position works in a primarily onsite capacity at Chula Vista, CA and will be part of the IAM Local 755. Work hours will be Monday - Friday, Day-Time Shift – 6:30AM – 3:00PM PST

Requirements

HS diploma, GED with 4 years of relevant experience
Previous experience in an FAA or DCMA regulated shop environment
Strong knowledge of mechanical rework processes using both hand and power tools.
Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly procedures using both hand and power tools.
Strong knowledge of harness assembly procedures.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, CMMs (Component Maintenance Manuals) and wiring diagrams.
This job requires a U.S. Person.

Nice To Haves

Active A&P license preferred
Previous experience in an FAA regulated MRO
Experience building wire harness assemblies in an aerospace manufacturing environment
Basic knowledge of ERP system such as SAP

Responsibilities

Perform rework operations in accordance with approved technical data and routing to repair flight hardware for return to service.
Disassembly, cleaning, testing, repair, and assembly of FAA controlled flight hardware.
Layout and build mechanical assemblies such as engine mounts, fire detectors, tubes, ducts, and hoses.
Layout and build wire harness and cable assemblies.
Utilize pneumatic tools to mechanically rework damaged flight hardware.
Perform functional testing on electrical components and sensors.
Coordinate with inspection and engineering teams to address shop findings and in-process discrepancies.
Follow approved technical data using engineering provided routing.
Maintain good shop practices and a clean workstation/environment.
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives/projects that support the shop floor.
