The Aircraft QC Inspector (UH-60 Technical Inspector) is responsible for inspecting the repair and modification of aircraft structures, structural components, and engines, including those of complex to extreme difficulty. This role involves inspecting the removal and installation of aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls, and their components. The inspector performs scheduled and special inspections, conducts limited maintenance operational checks, and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using specialized tools and equipment. Key duties also include inspecting forms and records related to aircraft maintenance, identifying defective parts, and planning, conducting, and supervising technical inspections. The incumbent applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions, participates in maintenance test-flights and operational checks, and ensures compliance with aircraft configuration control, oil analysis programs, and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration. Additional maintenance duties may be assigned, and adherence to company policies and safety programs is paramount.
