About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Aircraft Painter to support the Component or Decorative Paint Team in North Charleston, South Carolina. The position is 100% onsite and operates on a variable shift. The assigned shift will be based on business needs and may differ during training. Candidates must meet U.S. export control requirements as a U.S. Person and complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Successful candidates must also satisfy Boeing’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting.
• Ability to work variable shifts; the assigned shift will not be confirmed until after training.
• Ability to wear fall-protection gear, safety equipment, and masks.
• Ability to work with high-hazard chemicals.
• Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6–8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs or steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to 6 hours per day; and squat and kneel.
• Ability to carry or lift 10–35 pounds.
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
• Must complete the required technical assessment to remain under consideration.
• Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process.

Nice To Haves

• At least 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of aircraft painting or automotive painting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare aircraft exterior surfaces for painting.
• Make patterns, perform layout, and apply prescribed primers, paints, and finishes to aircraft exteriors.
• Apply aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft sections.
