About The Position

The Mechanical Definition Engineer serves as a key member of the Completions Engineering organization, responsible for translating customer sales and program requirements into actionable engineering deliverables. This role ensures accurate communication, coordination, and execution of aircraft configuration requirements through the development of Build List packages, Completions Tasking and Scheduling (CTS) tasking creation, requirements tracking, and cross-functional collaboration. The Mechanical Definition Engineer acts as the primary interface between sales, engineering, and downstream operations teams to ensure aircraft modifications and completions activities are properly executed. The Engineer IV role is focused on aircraft interior engineering and definition work. Candidates will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements, developing engineering definitions, and supporting aircraft completion and customization projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
  • Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
  • The team works from Interior Design Definition (IDD) documents and customer specification documents developed by Sales Support.
  • Candidates will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements, developing engineering definitions, and supporting aircraft completion and customization projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred
  • Strong preference for candidates with direct aviation and aircraft interior experience.
  • Someone who can quickly integrate and contribute with minimal ramp-up time.

  • Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
