This role involves performing all assigned maintenance duties in accordance with the Company General Maintenance Manual (GMM). The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible and accountable for all work performed, ensuring proper completion of all Company forms, and the correct handling of parts, units, assemblies, and aircraft during the repair process. Key responsibilities include maintaining current documentation of discrepancies and corrective actions, ensuring the adequacy and correctness of all maintenance and inspection documentation, and identifying and reporting mechanical interruption events. The position also requires timely submission of OJT tasks, maintaining a safe and clean work area, and proper care and use of tools and equipment. Immediate notification of any condition compromising aircraft airworthiness to the Manager of Maintenance and other appropriate personnel is critical. The role also involves performing inspection tasks, overseeing inspection and quality control methods, recommending and verifying corrective actions, and exercising initiative and sound judgment regarding aircraft airworthiness and maintenance quality. Continuous surveillance of the maintenance process, performing RII inspections, ensuring accurate documentation, and performing Receiving Inspections (RI) of incoming parts are also key duties. The Aircraft Mechanic will review Work Packages for RII items, perform Technical Representative duties when assigned, and maintain continuous surveillance of work in progress, including performing audits and spot inspections. Approving maintenance and inspection tasks before work begins and stopping work when critical findings are discovered are essential. Ensuring provider employees are properly trained and qualified, and that tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated, are also part of the role. Maintaining a progress log, attending and/or calling meetings related to the aircraft work and inspection process, acting as a liaison between the Provider and the Company, overseeing pre-flight inspections, accompanying test flight crews on functional check flights, and ensuring proper release of aircraft to and from service are also required. Finally, the role includes performing acceptance checks for Company-acquired aircraft during delivery inspections.
