About The Position

Performs aircraft maintenance to include operational test, repair, modification and replacement of aircraft electrical/avionics systems. Applies technical knowledge to solve problems and to provide technical assistance as required. Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft electrical/avionics systems. Demonstrates knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment. Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems. Possess a thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention and treatment of corrosion.

Requirements

  • Must have minimum of High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have three (3) years experience within the last six (6) years in aircraft electrical/avionics maintenance, including avionics corrosion detection, treatment and prevention, performing maintenance on avionics and/or electrical systems, utilizing tools, blueprints, drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and normal safety requirements, or satisfactory completion of T45 OJT program.
  • Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces aircraft avionics school or other schools with equivalent curriculum required.
  • Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
  • Must be able to obtain the level of security clearance required by the Government.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have a valid DL.

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to become Ground Run certified.
  • Collateral Duty Inspector (CDS) (may be required)

Responsibilities

  • Performs the troubleshooting and rewiring of complex avionics/electronic systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
  • Performs aircraft inventory, acceptance and transfer inspections.
  • Provides technical assistance and guidance as required by the position.
  • Assists in P&E report preparation.
  • May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.
  • Maintain assigned aircraft in accordance with Navy, Manufacturer and Company Instructions.
  • Use provided test equipment and Ground Support Equipment to perform assigned tasks.
  • Read, interpret, and apply instructions from Blueprints, schematics and other approved data.
  • Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials and equipment as required.
  • Document work accomplished on Maintenance Action Forms (MAF) or NALCOMIS System.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for adhering to Company Tool Control Program.
  • Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
  • Ensure proper operation and use of special test equipment and Ground Support Equipment.
  • Maintain Appropriate records of all work accomplished.
  • May be required to perform simple computer input functions.
  • Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing and able to stand rotating shifts.
  • Must be able to travel 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary security clearances required for this position.
  • Familiarization with OPNAV 4790.2 Series and other applicable Navy Instructions, Manufacturer Manuals and Company Instructions.
  • May be required to become Ground Run certified.
  • Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.
  • Knowledge of materials used and safety precautions as applicable to usage.
  • Must have valid state operators license and be able to pass the Government licensing requirements.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
