About The Position

Repairs, maintains, and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. May be required to adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems. May be required to direct and/or performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair. May be required to perform crash recovery duties. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives and data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures and the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations and use is mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of Air Force supply procedures to look up, place orders, receive and maintain parts and materials to complete assigned work.
  • Completion of an advanced applicable aircraft maintenance course is mandatory.
  • Qualification as Aircraft Mechanic is mandatory.
  • A minimum of five years of performing functions, such as repairing and maintaining aircraft equipment or components, is mandatory.
  • Must have held an Air Force or Sister Service Equivalent Jet engine AFSC.
  • SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Courses in mathematics are desirable.
  • Experience in JEIM shop for tear down and build-up of F100-PW-100 & 220 engines.
  • Additional experience in F100-PW-229, F110-GE-129E, F110-GE-100 and F110-GE-129 is desired.
  • Ability to become borescope qualified.
  • Blade blend certified.

  • Tear down and build-up of F100-PW-100 & 220 engines.
  • Remove and replace line replaceable units (LRU) and rig if required.
  • Perform borescope inspections.
  • Blade blend certification.
