Services, maintains and repairs aircraft used in aerial mosquito control program in Jefferson County. Duties & Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Services and repairs aircrafts used by the Jefferson County Mosquito Control Department; performs routine preventative maintenance; confers with pilots regarding problems with aircraft. Performs authorized inspections of aircraft at required intervals. Services aircraft spray equipment; calibrates spray systems; inspects chemical filters weekly; dismantles, cleans, and reassembles spray systems. Prepares aircraft for spraying operations; cleans and shuts down equipment after spraying. Maintains inventory of aircraft supplies and parts used regularly; locates, orders and picks up parts as needed. Submits monthly reports; assists with maintenance of aircraft facilities and loading systems. Completes all forms, logs and records required by insurance company, F.A.A., E.P.A. and other agencies. Obtains annual recertification for Inspection Authorization’s License; stays current with aircraft laws and maintenance procedures. Attends annual refresher courses in chemical handling procedures; aircraft safety operations; drivers safety course. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
