About The Position

Perform repair/rebuilding of T-56-A-14 power plants, C-2/E-2/C-130/P-3 Propeller, P-3 Auxiliary Power Units, and related components in accordance with maintenance support requirements. May perform engine test cell operations if trained and qualified as a Test Cell Operator. Enters maintenance documentation in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs).

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the last ten (10) years in I and/or D level aviation engine, auxiliary power unit, and propeller maintenance rebuilding/restoration/repair.
  • Experience shall be exclusive of formalized training time.
  • Graduate from military formal aircraft power-plants training.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have demonstrated I and/or D level troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a National Agency Check with Investigation (NACI), which includes a credit history check.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.

Nice To Haves

  • Navy Aviation Machinist's Mate (AD) senior enlisted with Aviation Quality Assurance Collateral Duty Inspector experience (i.e., E-5 through E-7) or USMC equivalent.
  • NEC AD-6418 (T-56 Turbo Engine and 54H60 Series Propeller First Degree/IMA Mechanic) and/or NEC AD-6422 Test Cell Operator/Maintainer or USMC equivalent.
  • Graduate from military AD A and C schools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repair/rebuilding of T-56-A-14 power plants, C-2/E-2/C-130/P-3 Propeller, P-3 Auxiliary Power Units, and related components in accordance with maintenance support requirements.
  • May perform engine test cell operations if trained and qualified as a Test Cell Operator.
  • Enters maintenance documentation in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs).
  • Demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in I and/or D level troubleshooting and repair malfunctions in various aircraft engine and propeller systems/subsystems level.
  • NALCOMIS and VIDMAFs entry and completion.
  • Other duties as assigned
