About The Position

This AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR position is part of the CA 146 AW. This position is concurrently announced with AGR A26-261. Only one of the announced positions will be filled. Referral and selection will be IAWCNGFPR335. THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, WS-8852-10, is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

Requirements

  • CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Compatible Military Assignment and Grade are required.
  • Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity.
  • Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position.
  • Military Grades: E-7 or E-8
  • Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance.
  • May be required to successfully complete a one or two year trial period.
  • Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards.
  • Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required.
  • General Experience: Possess experience, education or training which provides the ability to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications; skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
  • AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, WS-8852-10: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, must have at least 36 months of experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
