Responsibilities also include adjusting and repairing electrical wiring systems, performing various maintenance inspections, and servicing aircraft components. The position requires applying technical knowledge to diagnose malfunctions, restore equipment, and interpret technical documentation like blueprints and manuals. The mechanic may also supervise aircraft jacking and towing, perform line maintenance, and specialize in structural or engine repair. Additionally, they may be required to maintain aircraft logs and records and prioritize workload to meet project schedules, adhering to specific military maintenance regulations (COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series) and applications (NAMP and NALCOMIS).
