The NDI Technician inspects aircraft, aircraft components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and analyzes engine oil for wear metal debris. This role involves repairing, inspecting, and maintaining structural, mechanical, and electrical elements of the aircraft. The technician will also train others in the use of various diagnostic devices and tools, provide oversight for aircraft maintenance tasks, and perform Designated System Inspector (DSI) duties. The position requires determining NDI test methods, preparing parts for inspection, interpreting and evaluating indications using various NDI technologies, and analyzing engine oil for wear metal content. Additionally, the role includes handling hazardous materials, documenting maintenance according to quality assurance and regulatory requirements, and maintaining control tools.
