About The Position

Amentum is immediately hiring a qualified Aircraft Mechanic II in support of U.S. Navy Aviation Flight Line Operations at NAS Oceana Virginia Beach, VA. VFA-106. The Aircraft Mechanic II shall be responsible for all matters relating to Flight Line Operations and administrative control of Line work center. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: The recording and scheduling of training and qualification tracking of personnel assigned to the Line Work Center. Trainee PQS, establish deadlines, scheduling of testing and board practical. SE Phase 1 tracking, scheduling tests, filing, database and MPP update. Schedule and coordinate Restricted/Unrestricted ramp license, monitoring and data base update. Schedule and coordinate yearly PC requalification test and monitor. Update and care of Personnel training jackets Schedule, coordinate, track and disseminate Detachments lists. Attendance tracking and monitoring. Schedule and coordinate Corrosion Control course. Shift assignment and scheduling for Mechanic 1s Approve, disapprove, and track work center vacation Assign and audit collateral duty Time sheet approval for work center personnel End-of-month reports for Line work center Monthly MPP submissions and update Weekly Operations meeting attendance Weekly Work Center Lead meeting Shift work required, detachments are possible.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years actual and recent organizational level F/A-18 aircraft experience.
  • 5 years prior F/A-18 A-G Line work center supervision/operation.
  • 3 years of Collateral Duty Inspector/Quality Assurance Representative experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with special tools/equipment required to perform all assigned maintenance tasks.
  • Must attain/maintain Plane Captain and Collateral Duty Inspector qualification within 30 days of hire/promotion.
  • 3 years of Flight Line and Aircraft Carrier shipboard operations experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the OPNAVINST 4790.2 series to include company Ground Operating Procedures, Letters of Instructions pertaining to the operations of the Line Work Center (Program enforcement and compliance).
  • Willing and able to enforce all Site, Company and Navy policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Familiar with NAMP CSEC audit program.
  • Able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
  • Working knowledge of the Technical Directive program.
  • Able to plan, prioritize and assign tasks/workload to ensure all daily flight schedule requirements are met without impact on the customer.
  • Will be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check as well as favorable fingerprints in EQIP.
  • May be required to complete a SF-85/86 in EQIP as required to maintain possession of CAC card.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorizations at this work location.
