Aircraft Mechanic II

Tyonek Native Corporation•Hurlburt Field, FL

About The Position

Aircraft Mechanic II performs moderate-difficulty maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structures and systems to support assigned missions. The work includes fuel systems, engines, sheet metal and structural components, hydraulics, electrical systems, power train, flight controls, pneumatics, and other mechanical components. The mechanic applies airframe and power plant knowledge and technical documentation to troubleshoot malfunctions and restore aircraft equipment and systems to serviceable condition. The position requires working knowledge of technical publications and aircraft-specific tools and equipment. The mechanic receives technical guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician as needed, may lead teams on complex aircraft tasks, may inspect Mechanic IIs and Is, and may make entries in aircraft logs and records. Duties may include contributing to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), preparing Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) documentation, and assisting with recommendations for Maintenance Work Orders (MWO). Specialization may be required in sheet metal, electrical work, avionics, or other aircraft systems. Work is performed on and off aircraft, as requirements dictate, and may involve corrosion-control tools and spray equipment.
