About The Position

Performs inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on assigned aircraft. This role requires adherence to all Technical Orders, GOPs/SOPs, Air Force Instructions, and any other directives identified by Site Management or the PWS. The mechanic will perform launch, recovery, scheduled and unscheduled inspections/maintenance, including preflight/thru flight/BPO inspections, ground handling, minor maintenance, and servicing. Responsibilities also include routine troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance of all systems and components on the aircraft at the organizational level of maintenance. The role involves servicing aircraft and performing various types of inspections such as end-of-runway, post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections. Additionally, the mechanic will troubleshoot and maintain aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment, as well as remove and install aircraft components. Maintenance will be performed in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer, and company maintenance manuals and procedures. The position also includes providing OJT to other Mechanics/Technicians, assisting in the Tool Control Program, and potentially staffing the Tool Room section. Ordering parts and equipment through the Air Force supply system, ensuring supply discipline, and completing assigned training requirements within prescribed timelines are also key duties. The role requires operating vehicles on the flightline, notifying the Shift Lead when aircraft are crew ready, and conducting aircrew debriefs when assigned. Servicing, operating, and maintaining ground support equipment, and performing interior/exterior cleaning of aircraft and work areas are also part of the job. Accurate completion of aircraft forms and maintenance information systems documentation is essential.

Requirements

Minimum six (6) years of heavy aircraft maintenance and/or hands-on flightline operations, real-time troubleshooting, and mission-critical aircraft turnaround in high-tempo environments.
Extensive knowledge of aircraft servicing procedures, maintenance manuals, technical data, and parts catalogs, with the ability to apply them accurately under operational pressure to ensure safety, compliance, and readiness.
Must read, interpret and use manufacturers and aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, wiring/schematic diagrams, data tables and other specifications to determine feasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged components.
Must have a current state issued drivers license.
Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. NOTE: U.S. citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work site.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Aircraft maintenance experience on KC-46 aircraft preferred.
FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Services aircraft. Performs end-of-runway, post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections.
Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components.
Performs inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the company aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer and company maintenance manuals and procedures.
Provides OJT to other Mechanics/Technicians, to include signing off training records in accordance with the training/certification plan.
Assists in implementing the Tool Control Program and may be required to staff the Tool Room section to meet contract performance requirements.
Orders parts and equipment through the Air Force supply system and ensures supply discipline, categorizing orders in accordance with Air Force parts/supply/equipment urgency designators.
Completes assigned training requirements during prescribed timelines.
Operates vehicles on the flightline in accordance with local airfield driving requirements.
Notifies Shift Lead when aircraft are “crew ready” in accordance with timelines prescribed by the Shift Lead.
Conducts aircrew debriefs when assigned.
Services, operates, and maintains ground support equipment and performs interior and exterior cleaning of aircraft and work areas.
Completes aircraft forms and maintenance information systems documentation accurately, completing all documentation as soon as practical, but always prior to the end of shift.
Perform all other position-related duties as assigned.
