About The Position

Provides support to 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) Marine Light Attack Helicopter (HMLAT)-303 Corrosion Control, Tool Room, and Organizational Level (O-Level) Maintenance on H-1 aircraft in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), applicable technical data, and federal contract requirements. Mid-level aircraft mechanic supporting H-1 aircraft corrosion control operations.

Requirements

  • Individual (I) Aircraft Maintenance Qualification required
  • Basic Corrosion Control Course required
  • Previously certified H-1 CDQAR required
  • Three years aviation maintenance experience required
  • Must be able to work shift schedules as required per Performance Work Statement (PWS)
  • Must be able work work-week schedules i.e. M-F, Sn-Th or as required per PWS
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years’ H-1 rotary wing experience preferred
  • Seven or more years’ rotary wing maintenance experience preferred
  • Familiarity and ability to use NAVAIR IETMS preferred
  • Four or more years’ experience with NALCOMIS/OOMA preferred
  • Automated Track and Balancing System (ATABS) Course (NATEC provides) preferred
  • Advanced Corrosion Control Course/Paint and Final Finish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs aircraft maintenance functions of the Line, Corrosion Control, and Aircraft Organizational Level maintenance
  • Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance support for assigned H-1 aircraft
  • Performs aircraft Daily Turn Around Inspections
  • Performs aircraft launch and recovery operations
  • Performs inspection, disassembly, repair, servicing, TD compliance, modification, assembly, corrosion control, preservation/depreservation
  • Maintain aircraft and aeronautical equipment to continuously support the assigned readiness posture outlined in in the activities plan and daily flight schedule
  • Aircraft maintenance action documentation via logs, records, forms, and electronic means
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft electrical and avionics on flight controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, and ventilation and heating systems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, machines, specific and general aviation test measurement and diagnostic equipment, and sets kits and outfits (SKO).
  • Inspect, repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components/subcomponents to include rigging of flight control.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • Perform shift work and/or overtime as required
  • Perform phase, scheduled, unscheduled, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections.
  • Requisition repair parts, materials, and consumable supplies through military supply system.
  • Perform complex aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and modification
  • Document maintenance actions in aircraft logs and approved maintenance systems
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to lower-level mechanics
  • Ensure compliance with Tool Control, FOD, safety, and quality programs
  • Perform Launch and Recovery Operations
  • Perform and inspect airframe, flight control, hydraulic, pneumatic, and landing gear systems
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and directives
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics systems
  • Document maintenance actions per NAMP requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
