Aircraft Mechanic I WORKCENTER: Back Shop Maintenance (Wheel & Tire) Essential Responsibilities: Provide off-equipment maintenance for wheels, tires and associated equipment used on assigned aircraft. Manage, forecast and coordinate overhaul maintenance for over 50 wheel & tire assemblies spanning 4 different aircraft MDS's. Operates all associated ground support equipment and uses hand tools, special tools, fixtures and adhesives applicable to maintenance and repair. Researches technical data, maintenance drawings and blueprints for inspection, maintenance, and repair of assigned equipment. Disassemble /Reassemble, inspect, repair and repack Boeing and Gulf Stream wheel & tire assemblies. Monitors bench and shop stocks and orders material and supplies as required. Coordinates maintenance efforts with the NDI Shop, Sheetmetal Shop, Production Supervisors and Maintenance Operation Coordination Center. Documents applicable forms and inputs data in Maintenance Information System. Ensures compliance with applicable safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOO prevention programs. Must be able to work first shift, second shift, third shift, and/or weekend shift as required. Performs other duties related to the occupational field as assigned. May be tasked to perform work center additional duties with provided training, to include temporary duty and travel. Must maintain all training requirements.
