About The Position

The Aircraft Mechanic I (CH-47/AH-64/UH-60) performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft. Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance. Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested. Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three years aviation maintenance experience.
  • Two years rotary wing aircraft experience.
  • Two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS).
  • All experience must be within the six most recent years.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must provide own tools/toolbox.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS.
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
  • Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
  • Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanic.
  • Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.

Nice To Haves

  • U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired.
  • Certification of education level is required.
  • Valid up-to-date A&P license (optional )
  • Recruiters will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection.
  • Minimum tool list and compliance of toolbox must be completed prior to start date.
  • Travel assignments as applicable via CBA
  • The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
