Amentum is seeking a qualified Aircraft Mechanic 1 specialized in Airframe/Structural, Landing Gear, Launch/Arresting, Wing/Pylon Fold; Hydraulic/Pneumatic, and mechanical Flight Control Systems (EA-18G experience is required) to support U.S. Naval Air Station maintenance operations at NAS Whidbey Island. Aircraft Mechanics I must possess a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train, and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet assigned missions. The role involves making repairs to aircraft under the direction of higher-graded workers, troubleshooting malfunctions in various aircraft systems, and repairing/replacing components using a variety of tools and equipment. This includes reading and interpreting technical manuals, performing inspections, and maintaining aircraft in safe operating condition. Specialization in areas such as sheet-metal, electric work, avionics, or other aircraft systems may be required. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensing is not required, but contractor employee technical proficiency is essential. Selected candidates will be required to hold this job position for one year. The position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance, meet physical requirements, and obtain facility credentials. Travel is also required.
