The Aircraft Mechanic I (Sheetmetal/Structures UH-60, AH-64, CH-47) repairs and replaces aircraft structural components to include stingers, longerons, bulkheads, beams and aircraft skin according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. This role involves repairing, fabricating, modifying, and installing structural parts, forming blocks, and shaping metal using various techniques. The mechanic will also mix and apply fiberglass materials, balance rotary-wing aircraft blades, and make repairs to transparent plastic windows and enclosures. They will use common and precision measuring tools to perform structural repairs, conduct checks, inspections, and component removals. Additionally, the role includes mixing and applying primers and paints, applying corrosion control treatment, and comprehending technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings. The position requires requisitioning bench stock, preparing requests for turn-ins and repair parts, and performing operator maintenance on tools. Final checks on assembly and installation of replaced parts, preparing maintenance-related forms and records, and assisting other technicians are also part of the duties. The mechanic will maintain supplies, perform preventive maintenance, and adhere to company policies and safety programs.
