The Aircraft Mechanic I (Power Plant) position requires a combination of experience in repairing engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train, and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty to meet assigned missions. This role involves troubleshooting malfunctions in various aircraft systems, including structures, landing gear, flight controls, anti-icing, pneudraulics, engines, auxiliary power units, and ventilation/heating systems. The mechanic will repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and components using a variety of tools and equipment. This includes interpreting technical manuals and specifications to perform repairs, replacing worn or damaged components, and disassembling/inspecting engines. The position also involves servicing aircraft, performing inspections, and maintaining maintenance records. A Federal Aviation Administration license may be required, along with specialization in areas like sheet metal, electrical work, avionics, or other aircraft systems.
