About The Position

United Aviate Academy (UAA), a subsidiary of United Airlines, is seeking multiple Aircraft Maintenance Technicians for its Maintenance Department. The role is a working member of the maintenance organization responsible for completing required aircraft maintenance in a timely manner and according to policy and procedure. Work includes preventive maintenance, routine inspections, repairs, scheduled maintenance, and post-run tests. Technicians are expected to provide safe, dependable, high-quality service and follow applicable FAA regulations, company policies, procedures, and maintenance manuals.

Requirements

• Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Working knowledge of FAA aircraft maintenance regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Graduates of FAA-approved aircraft maintenance schools are considered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and legal practices in accordance with FAA and United Aviate policies and regulations.
• Complete aircraft maintenance documentation in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and maintenance manuals.
• Properly tag aircraft components, parts, and panels, including aircraft racks.
• Maintain awareness of hourly goals for assigned tasks.
• Perform and assist with approved work assigned by leads within the scheduled shift.
• Ensure all assigned work documents and records are complete.
• Coordinate activities with the lead mechanic in charge or supervisor.
• Research pertinent information and materials for scheduled aircraft work and follow outlined processes.
• Ensure all tools are removed from aircraft, engines, appliances, and components.
• Maintain positive tool-control accountability.
• Immediately report lost or found tools to management.
