About The Position

Air Canada is looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time positions of Aircraft Technicians or Aircraft Maintenance Engineers at their Montreal Maintenance Centre. These roles are responsible for airframe maintenance and require individuals who are team players with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude in a demanding environment. The positions are unionized with IAMAW and are specifically for the night shift, with potential for change based on seniority.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • Completed a recognized apprenticeship program and/or have at least 4 years of industry-related experience.
  • Possession of a Transport Canada AME M2 or M1 license (Mandatory).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license (Mandatory).
  • Able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, physical, and a security check.
  • Available to work night, evenings, and days including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to pass and obtain an airside vehicle operator’s permit (Mandatory).
  • Possession of a restricted radio operators permit (aviation).
  • Meet Air Canada medical standards, including passing a medical evaluation, drug and alcohol test.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.

  • Endorsements on Air Canada aircraft type.
  • Current security clearance.
  • Bilingual (preference given to bilingual candidates based on equal qualifications).

Responsibilities

  • Perform airframe maintenance.
  • Use correct tools, methods, techniques, and equipment for aircraft maintenance.
  • Read and understand schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting.
  • Be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain a customer-focused attitude in a demanding, high-stress environment.
  • Conduct safety-critical work.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability.
  • Obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.
