The A&P Mechanic is responsible for the scheduled/unscheduled aircraft maintenance on all aircraft systems; turbine engine, propeller, airframe, flight control/landing gear/engine rigging, troubleshooting systems, daily/turnaround inspections, perform corrosion inspections and related treatment, washing/cleaning, servicing aircraft fuel/ oil/ hydraulic/ oxygen/ nitrogen systems, structural repairs and component in-house repair/back shop programs. The role involves maintaining Air Tractor 802U aircraft in support of aircrew missions, launching and recovering aircraft, adjusting and calibrating components, performing functional checks of various aircraft systems, and conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections according to OEM procedures. The mechanic will utilize technical data and manuals for maintenance and troubleshooting, perform in-progress and completion inspections, research and order parts, prepare parts for turn-in, and initiate material deficiency reports. Additionally, the position requires maintaining tools, adhering to tool accountability procedures, annotating inspection documents, performing serviceability checks on support equipment, and complying with established policies and standards. The role may also involve assisting in training new personnel, operating authorized vehicles, practicing good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness, and safety. The mechanic will also assist in researching and requisitioning parts, monitoring inventory, participating in flight line FOD prevention walks, and completing maintenance documentation. Servicing aircraft with various fluids and performing corrosion control inspections are also key responsibilities. The role requires discussing discrepancies with aircrews, maintaining COMSEC compliance, and possessing in-depth knowledge of aircraft safety directives, flight line operations, aircraft technical publications, and maintenance database technology. The position may require working shifts, travel for maintenance recovery teams, and potential CONUS and OCONUS deployments, including working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day in established OCONUS environments to support mission requirements.
