The A&P Mechanic is responsible for the scheduled/unscheduled aircraft maintenance on all aircraft systems; turbine engine, propeller, airframe, flight control/landing gear/engine rigging, troubleshooting systems, daily/turnaround inspections, perform corrosion inspections and related treatment, washing/cleaning, servicing aircraft fuel/ oil/ hydraulic/ oxygen/ nitrogen systems, structural repairs and component in-house repair/back shop programs. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance and maintain Air Tractor 802U aircraft in support of aircrew missions. Responsibilities include launching and recovering aircraft, adjusting and calibrating components, performing functional checks of various aircraft systems, and conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections according to OEM procedures. The role involves using technical data and manuals for maintenance and troubleshooting, performing in-progress and follow-up inspections, researching and ordering parts, preparing parts for turn-in, and initiating material deficiency reports. Additionally, the A&P Mechanic is responsible for maintaining tools, adhering to tool accountability procedures, annotating inspection documents, performing serviceability checks on support equipment, and complying with all policies and standards. The position also involves assisting in training new personnel, operating authorized vehicles, practicing good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness, and safety. Further duties include assisting with parts research and requisitioning, monitoring bench stock and tool inventories, participating in flight line FOD prevention walks, completing maintenance documentation, servicing aircraft with various fluids and gases, performing corrosion control inspections, discussing discrepancies with aircrews, and maintaining COMSEC policies. In-depth knowledge of aircraft safety directives, English proficiency, flight line operations, aircraft technical publications, and maintenance database technology is required. The role may require working shifts, traveling as part of a maintenance recovery team, and deploying CONUS and OCONUS, potentially working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day in established OCONUS environments to support mission requirements.
