About The Position

Join a mission-driven organization that supports Civil Air Patrol’s nationwide operations! We’re seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Coordinator to advise customers and senior management on aircraft maintenance requirements, parts issues, and repair processes for a geographically dispersed fleet of approximately 550 general aviation aircraft. The coordinator will recommend appropriate maintenance actions and parts replacement using CAP and FAA regulations for guidance and policy enforcement. This position is also responsible for tracking and investigating recurring discrepancies with manufacturers, third-party vendors, and operating units, as well as support onboarding and knowledge transfer for newly assigned maintenance personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of four years general aviation aircraft maintenance or maintenance coordination experience.
  • Working knowledge of general aviation aircraft systems, parts, and maintenance practices.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations applicable to general aviation maintenance, including airworthiness requirements, maintenance recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with aircraft maintenance tracking systems (e.g., CAMP, PlaneLogix, Trax, or similar platforms).
  • Technologically proficient using web-based applications and maintenance tracking systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Ability to work independently and produce timely and accurate results.
  • The successful completion of a comprehensive background check is mandatory for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred (focus in Aviation Maintenance preferred).
  • Familiarity with Access and Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, research, and processes customer aircraft maintenance support requests.
  • Research aircraft parts using manufacturer catalogs, maintenance manuals, and web-based information systems.
  • Tracks and monitors compliance with applicable Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs).
  • Coordinates aircraft registration documentation with the FAA to maintain current and accurate records.
  • Processes purchase requisitions and supporting documentation for parts, maintenance, and services.
  • Calculates and publishes aircraft performance and reliability metrics using approved systems.
  • Processes aircraft acquisition, warranty, and disposition documentation to maintain accurate lifecycle records.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining aircraft asset records in Operational Resource Management System (ORMS), ensuring data integrity.
  • Tracks aircraft engine and engine core status across multiple reporting systems.
  • Ensures assigned aircraft data accuracy by identifying discrepancies and coordinating corrective actions with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency, data accuracy, and fleet readiness.
  • Performs duties in a high-tempo environment with competing priorities while meeting established timelines and service expectations.
