About The Position

This position is responsible for the routing, loading, and unloading of inbound and outbound air freight shipments to and from the proper destinations. The role involves interacting with customers to receive and provide cargo shipments, collect fees, and process payments and other transactions related to those shipments in a courteous, accurate, and timely manner. The Aircraft Load Agent also prepares and examines bills of lading, weighs items to determine shipping charges, prepares freight bills, and notifies customers of any shipment delays. Maintaining safety and security of the cargo facility and complying with safety procedures and station policies are crucial. This role may also perform Ramp Agent duties as needed and other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities.

Requirements

• Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces
• Eligible to receive appropriate security clearances after satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
• Familiarity with basic computer programs to assist with record-keeping and baggage routing
• Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to obtain USPS Approval to handle mail.
• Flexible schedule allowing work during nights, weekends, and holidays. Some shifts may require extended hours to meet business needs.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and move items up to 70 pounds or more on a regular basis.
• Must be able to observe, judge distances, identify surroundings, hazards, aircrafts, and equipment.
• Must be able to communicate by radio and other devices.

Responsibilities

• Notifies customers of any delays in departure or arrival of shipments.
• Always maintains safety and security of the cargo facility and complies with safety procedures and station policies.
• May also perform Ramp Agent duties as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
