About The Position

Liaison engineering supporting aircraft line maintenance operations. This role involves providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage, including sheet metal and composite repairs. It may also include performing structural analysis, providing work deviation authorization, interpreting service documents and Engineering Orders, and offering repair versus replace options to minimize financial impact. The position also assists with aircraft system troubleshooting, attends production meetings, coordinates with Engineering Fleet Groups, monitors trends, and develops typical repairs to reduce repetitive requests.

Requirements

  • BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
  • Two plus (2+) years in specific technical discipline
  • Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manual (AMM, IPC, CMM)
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer's needs

Nice To Haves

  • Aircraft/airline/MRO or aviation engineering experience desired

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical dispositions (via Engineering Authorizations) and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs.
  • Performing structural analysis to substantiate repairs.
  • Providing work deviation authorization, interpretation of service documents & Engineering Orders.
  • Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
  • Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance to Line Maintenance.
  • Attending daily production meeting and pre-induction meeting to ensure timely support.
  • Coordinating events/issues with Engineering Fleet Groups for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up.
  • Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action.
  • Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive BA requests.
