About The Position

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Aircraft Interior Installation Tech. This role involves removing and installing and/or fabricating aircraft interiors, which may include items such as trim, carpet, sound proofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels and other accessories by using company operating procedures and quality standards. The position requires adherence to safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, and the use of personal protective equipment. Responsibilities include coordinating with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications. Tasks must be completed in compliance with work order instructions and specifications. The role also involves using a material tracking system, following standard operating procedures for tools and equipment, and maintaining shop equipment. Physical requirements include the ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas, and lift up to 40 pounds. Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are necessary. Higher levels may involve mentoring, training, accepting lead responsibilities, and advanced knowledge of specific installation processes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Applicable installation, fabrication or related experience or trade school preferred (entry level).
  • Four (4) years of applicable installation, fabrication or related experience (for higher levels).
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • Participation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Able to work in small, restricted areas.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school preferred for entry level.

Responsibilities

  • Safely perform aircraft removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (galleys, closet, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors and vanity ledge fill panels).
  • Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications.
  • Prepare and install aircraft interior items in accordance with company operation procedures and quality standards.
  • Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors. Apply proper use of hardware and fittings on aircraft installations.
  • Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign off paperwork.
  • Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders and brakes.
  • Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools.
  • Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
  • Mentor and train other Interior Installation Technicians (Level IV).
  • Review work of other technicians prior to sign off to ensure work complies with quality control standards (Level IV).
  • Accept lead responsibilities as required (Level IV).
  • Oversee projects or other technicians and assess requirements of assigned tasks to procure required materials and documentation for assigned tasks (Level IV).
  • Assist technicians, under supervision, with aircraft maintenance requirements.
  • Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
  • Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that reduce cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement techniques.
  • Make and use simple patterns for own use employing standardized procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Use hand/power tools and equipment associated with installation and removal of interiors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
