About The Position

This is an opportunity for an experienced Aircraft Inspector to move into a Lead position. As an Aircraft Inspector V, you will provide expert oversight for all aircraft inspection activities, ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance. You will act as a subject matter expert and lead continuous improvement initiatives. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Advanced experience with and knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aviation products after maintenance.
  • U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor and guide subordinates.
  • Thorough understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
  • Comprehensive understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.
  • Prior experience with first article inspections and/or aircraft modifications.
  • Experience as an FAA Designee for Conformity Inspections.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
