About The Position

This position involves performing essential functions related to aircraft and ground support equipment (GSE) maintenance. The role requires inspecting, repairing, and maintaining various types of equipment, including aircraft engines and GSE. Key duties involve engine QEC (Quick Engine Change) kit management, documentation, hazardous material disposal, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and calibrated according to technical publications and regulations.

Requirements

  • Understanding of scheduling techniques and technical order requirements.
  • Ability to accurately troubleshoot and repair complex aircraft engine/support equipment systems.
  • Mental and visual ability to read and understand detailed technical publications and instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal courteously with the customer.
  • Knowledge of contractual requirements.
  • Extensive working knowledge in logistics and data information systems.
  • Graduation from a standard four (4) year high school or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum three (3) years recent aircraft maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting and repairing ground support equipment (GSE).
  • Installing and removing Quick Engine Change (QEC) kits on aircraft engines.
  • Performing engine QEC buildup actions, including assembly and tear down.
  • Using automated maintenance data systems to maintain equipment records and document maintenance actions.
  • Maintaining external fuel and grounding systems.
  • Inspecting, testing, and operating GSE to determine serviceability and proper operation.
  • Servicing equipment with various fluids and air.
  • Disassembling, repairing, cleaning, and reassembling GSE accessories and components.
  • Stenciling and marking GSE in accordance with technical publications.
  • Storing, handling, labeling, and using GSE components.
  • Disposing of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with environmental standards and regulations.
  • Operating, cleaning, inspecting, and servicing GSE towing vehicles.
  • Providing dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.
  • Practicing good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, and safety.
  • Working with repair and test equipment such as welders, torches, pressure testers, and electrical testers.
  • Completing all required documentation and tagging requirements of QEC items.
  • Ordering QEC parts from COMBS.
  • Referring to technical publications to determine specifications.
  • Tracking and recording calibration dates to ensure support equipment is up to date.
  • Keeping files with documentation and certifications of calibrated equipment.
  • Ensuring equipment is sent out for calibration when due.
  • Ensuring all equipment is accounted for.
  • Assigning I.D. numbers to each piece of equipment.
  • Obtaining receipts for equipment turnover to the operating command.
  • Performing maintenance and inspections on GSE according to applicable maintenance manuals, manufacturer specifications, and FAA regulations.
  • Researching and ordering materials for repair of support equipment.
  • Cleaning of warehouse, shops, offices, and restrooms as required.
  • Performing clerical and other assigned duties.
  • Preparing GSE for storage and transportation.
  • Abiding by all Company policies and procedures.
