About The Position

The Aircraft Fueler is responsible for the safe and efficient fueling and defueling of aircraft in accordance with company procedures, airline requirements, and aviation fuel safety regulations. This role operates fueling equipment, ensures accurate fuel delivery, and maintains high safety standards while working in a fast-paced airport ramp environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to operate fueling vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance and required certifications.
  • Successful completion of all classroom and on-the-job training.
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced airport environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and unit conversions, to accurately determine fuel quantities and complete fueling documentation.
  • Ability to follow procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft fueling and defueling using fuel trucks or hydrant systems.
  • Ensure correct fuel type and quantity are delivered according to airline specifications.
  • Communicate with flight crews, ramp agents, and dispatch regarding fueling requirements.
  • Follow all aviation fuel safety procedures and airport ramp safety regulations.
  • Conduct pre- and post-fueling equipment inspections.
  • Use grounding and bonding procedures to prevent static discharge during fueling.
  • Report fuel spills, equipment issues, safety hazards, or operational concerns immediately.
  • Safely operate fueling trucks, hydrant carts, and other fueling equipment.
  • Perform routine checks on fueling equipment and vehicles.
  • Ensure fueling equipment is properly maintained and stored after use.
  • Report mechanical issues to supervisors or maintenance teams.
  • Accurately complete fueling tickets and operational documentation.
  • Verify fuel orders and record delivered quantities.
  • Maintain compliance with operational recordkeeping standards.
  • Maintain professional communication with airline representatives and flight crews.
  • Coordinate with ramp operations to ensure timely aircraft turnaround.
  • Support efficient ground operations by meeting scheduled departure timelines.
  • To accomplish any other tasks that may, from time to time, be assigned by management.
