This is a Depot Level repair facility maintenance job on various aircraft, including but not limited to AV-8, C-130, C-2, E-2, EA-6B, F/A-18, H-1, H-53, H-60, MQ-8, P-3, P-8, F-35, and V-22. Military aviation platform experience is a plus. The role involves servicing, repairing, and overhauling engines to ensure airworthiness. This includes disassembling multiple types of LM2500 engines or similar aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories, removing components as required, and breaking down major assemblies. Mechanics will inspect parts for visual defects, determine functionality and reusability, and recondition and assemble subassemblies. The position requires maintaining, repairing, and testing different types of engines in aircraft test cells or maintenance shops. Analysis of problems such as fuel fluctuation, compressor instability, or excessive vibration and taking remedial action, including disassembly for corrections, is necessary. The role also requires utilizing knowledge of preservation and de-preservation techniques for shipping and long-term storage of aircraft or gas turbine engines, as well as knowledge of the installation, operation, and repair of gas turbine aircraft engines and accessory systems. Proficiency in using measurement and test instruments, interpreting technical orders, specifications, manufacturers' catalogs, maintenance bulletins, and other technical manuals is essential. Mechanics will observe instrument readings, make tentative diagnoses, and disassemble engines or accessory systems to locate defects, determine causes, and assess repair work.
