Under minimal supervision, this role is responsible for repairing and overhauling internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements. This position requires advanced skills in the administration and use of procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to the area of specialization. The technician will independently perform repairs, including removals, repair or replacement of defective parts, and fabrication of replacement parts, following blueprints, component maintenance manuals, vendor documents, verbal instructions, engineering dispositions, and other authorized maintenance data. All activities must adhere to Repair Station requirements, ensuring parts and assemblies meet conformance. The role also involves setting up and operating test equipment, inspecting detail parts, removing and reinstalling skins and components, demonstrating expertise in repair techniques, troubleshooting, soldering, and applying protective coatings. Proficiency in using, maintaining, and calibrating precision measuring and inspection tools is essential, as is understanding the flow of materials and work order processes within the repair station. Maintaining required paperwork according to FAA Repair Station requirements, keeping a clean work area, and complying with environmental health and safety regulations are also key responsibilities. Additional duties include performing major and minor repairs to flight controls and secondary structure components using specialized techniques, fabricating and repairing sheetmetal parts, removing and installing APUs and performing required APU maintenance for all Gulfstream aircraft models, repairing electronic assemblies and harnesses, and assisting with training other technicians.
