Gulfstream is seeking an Aircraft Component Repair Tech 2 to perform repairs and overhauls on internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements. This role involves applying various skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment specific to the area of specialization. The technician will perform repairs on mechanical and electrical assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and fabricate replacement parts as needed, all while adhering to blueprints, maintenance manuals, and other authorized data. A key aspect of the role is ensuring all parts and assemblies meet conformance standards and maintaining accurate paperwork in accordance with FAA RS requirements. The position also includes maintaining a clean work area and complying with environmental health and safety regulations. Additional responsibilities may include performing major and minor repairs to flight controls and secondary structures, fabricating and repairing sheetmetal, performing APU maintenance, and fabricating/repairing wiring and electrical harnesses. The role may also involve troubleshooting complex electrical circuits, assisting in training junior technicians, and resolving routine technical questions.
