About The Position

Titan Echelon is seeking an Air Vehicle Operator to join their Flight Operations team. This individual will function as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Mission Commander on unmanned aircraft for a Department of Defense customer. The role involves acting as PIC of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), providing Mission Coordinator/Commander support, and primarily supporting long endurance systems for national or theater level customers. The operator must be proficient in mission planning and coordination under varying airspace conditions, maintain broad situational awareness of current mission operations, understand mission target environments, and be familiar with operational methods and infrastructure. They must also understand government defense industry policies and procedures related to operating aircraft and supporting customer requirements, meet minimum performance standards, and be able to formulate training programs, lesson plans, and schedules.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with valid US passport
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • FAA private pilot’s license with an instrument rating
  • FAA Class II Medical Certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience
  • 4+ years of prior qualified Air Vehicle Operator, instructor, evaluator, and/or launch and recovery experience
  • 4+ years of operational experience
  • Experience with Piccolo Command Center or similar products
  • Ability to professionally interface with numerous levels of management, customers, and peers
  • The ability to work extended hours and/or shift work
  • The ability to work as a team to accomplish mission requirements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Timecard experience
  • Expense report experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact effectively with various levels internal and external to the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees

Responsibilities

  • Acts as Pilot in Command (PIC) of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)
  • Provide Mission Coordinator/Commander support to the team when not acting as PIC
  • Primarily supports long endurance systems, driven by national or theater level customers
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform mission planning and coordination acting under varying airspace conditions
  • Must maintain a broad and up-to-date situational awareness of current mission operations; quickly gain understanding of current mission target environments and associated dynamics; and be familiar with operational methods and infrastructure
  • Understands government defense industry policies and procedures related to operating aircraft and supporting customer requirements
  • Meets/exceeds minimum performance standards as outlines in the master training syllabuses
  • Formulates training programs, lesson plans and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, systems requirements, or service needs
