About The Position

You will be the Air Vehicle Health Management / IVHM Systems Engineer Senior - Level 3 for the Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Health Management (DPHM) Team which is responsible for designing and maintaining diagnostic and prognostic capabilities that detect and isolate root‑cause failures in air vehicles. As the Air Vehicle Health Management / IVHM Systems Engineer Senior - Level 3 you will be responsible for advancing the DPHM capability across the vehicle systems Directorate.

Requirements

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance with an investigation within 5 years to start.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent industry/technical experience
  • Experience in Systems engineering
  • Experience with data analysis and/or visualization using scripting languages (Python, SQL, Tableau, etc)

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer advanced degree in engineering, computer/data science, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience and integration of Aviation Vehicle Systems, Mission Systems, or Air Vehicle software.
  • Experience developing failure mode effects analysis and built-in-test (BIT) design.
  • Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, or Prognostics & Health Management capability development in commercial or military aviation.
  • Familiarity with standard applied machine learning and data mining techniques.
  • Experience with Agile practices and methodologies
  • Proactive engagement with team members to resolve technical issues.
  • Good problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (i.e. the ability to communicate complex analysis with clarity and precision)
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering languages (including SysML)
  • Experience with diagnostic modeling in any of the following tool sets; DSI eXpress, Siemens Xcelerator/MADe, Dassault System 3DX.

Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and integrate diagnostic and prognostic functions for aircraft systems and sub‑systems.
  • Conduct testability, built‑in‑test (BIT), and FMECA analyses to define fault‑detection and failure‑isolation requirements.
  • Evaluate operational DPHM performance, identify maturation opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate schedules, work plans, and integration activities with technical leads and stakeholders to keep projects on track.
  • Brief project status, technical findings, and risk assessments to engineering leadership and cross‑functional teams.
