About The Position

At NAV CANADA, we are experts in navigating Canada's skies, responsible for coordinating the safe, efficient, and orderly flow of air traffic. This application is for Air Traffic Controller positions in the Moncton FIR (New-Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island) and potentially other locations. Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) are crucial for managing Canada's airspace, ensuring the safety of pilots and aircraft. We are looking for motivated individuals to take on this responsibility, and you do not require prior specialized training or experience as we provide paid training. The training is comprehensive, including classroom, simulator, and on-the-job components, and you will receive a salary during this period. Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have a high school diploma, or equivalency.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Prepared to undergo a medical, security check, and drug testing (including cannabis).
  • Willing to relocate.
  • Able to meet language requirements (English for the Moncton FIR).
  • Clear verbal communication skills.
  • Memorization skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • A high level of resilience.
  • Meet the security requirement of the position and be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Undergo pre-employment drug screening for safety-sensitive and business-critical positions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the safe, efficient, and orderly flow of air traffic.
  • Managing Canada's airspace.
  • Issuing instructions and clearances to aircraft (for Tower Controllers).
  • Working in NAV CANADA sites across the country.
  • Undergoing rigorous and competitive recruitment and training processes.
  • Relocating to assigned ACCs or towers across the country.
  • Undergoing medical, security checks, and drug testing.
  • Guiding aircraft safely and expeditiously through Canadian-controlled airspace.
