About The Position

The Air Threat Analyst serves as a multi-source intelligence analyst for A2A’s complex requirements, focusing on air threat analysis and intelligence reporting for the AOR. The Integrated Air Defense System (IADS) Analyst provides all-source intelligence analysis and advisory support to 9AF (AFCENT) A22. The role focuses on adversary IADS capabilities and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) integration, translating threat assessments into actionable support for AFCENT plans and operations, contingency planning, exercises, and USAF and partner aircrew training. The analyst authors and quality-controls intelligence products, advises mission stakeholders, and operates independently while collaborating across national, joint, Service, coalition, and intelligence-community organizations. This job description supports both the IADS Analyst and Senior IADS Analyst levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of six (6) years of tactical- or operational-level analytical experience within the USAF or an equivalent Government organization.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of all-source intelligence analysis experience.
  • Formal intelligence analysis training.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and briefing adversary air defense capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of USCENTCOM AOR political and military threats, CENTCOM adversary air defense employment, intelligence analysis tradecraft and TTPs, standard computer applications, and intelligence-related automation used for analysis and product development.
  • Must possess a valid US passport
  • TS/SCI current clearance

Responsibilities

  • Provides expert all-source analytic support on adversary integrated air defense systems and ELINT integration, with emphasis on implications for 9AF (AFCENT) plans, operations, and USAF and partner aircrew training.
  • Authors, critically reviews, and quality-controls adversary air defense intelligence products, including oral presentations, PowerPoint briefings, formal messages, background papers, items of interest, collection requirements, production requirements, RFI responses, and staff summary packages.
  • Analyzes adversary air defense command and control, air surveillance and early warning, battle management, surface-to-air missile systems, air defense artillery, electronic warfare, and denial and deception practices.
  • Provides critical oversight of predictive and forensic analysis training for adversary lethal and non-lethal air defense systems.
  • Serves as the air defense advisor to 9AF (AFCENT) Technical Analysis Teams (CENTAT) and the 51st Intelligence Squadron, providing analytic oversight and quality control for biannual CENTAT working groups.
  • Provides analytic oversight and quality control for training, daily operations, and production of Threat to Air Operations (TTAO) products that inform USAF tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Supports 9AF (AFCENT) planning by developing and reviewing prioritized intelligence and production requirements, intelligence estimates, annexes, and appendices.
  • Serves as the adversary air defense authority on 9AF (AFCENT) Red Team activities, war-gaming, exercises, and adaptive planning processes.
  • Leverages formal and informal analytic exchanges and training opportunities to strengthen peer-to-peer collaboration, product vetting, and intelligence tradecraft.
  • Maintains mission-critical coordination with the National Command Authority; national, international, and Service intelligence centers; combatant commands; air components; and wing intelligence organizations.
  • Maintains specialized intelligence and operations community accesses pertinent to the assigned functional area, including Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM), Joint Special Technical Operations (JSTO), Limited Distribution GEOINT reporting, and Limited Distribution HUMINT reporting, as required.
  • Represents 9AF (AFCENT) A22 in national, joint, Service, coalition, and intelligence-community meetings, working groups, and analytic forums, as assigned.
  • Briefs senior leaders, Combined Air Operations Center personnel, 9AF (AFCENT) staff, and supported units on adversary air defense threats and associated operational risk.
  • Performs other related duties in support of the 9AF (AFCENT) A22 mission, as assigned.
