About The Position

This role involves acting as a systems engineer and carrying out pneumatics discipline activities. The engineer will be responsible for the integration and interface management of assigned systems, coordinating with internal groups and suppliers. Key tasks include defining pneumatic system architecture, preparing specifications and requirements, conducting functional modeling and trade studies, and ensuring engineering requirements management, validation, and verification. The role also entails managing suppliers from both engineering project and technical perspectives, reviewing and approving engineering design documents, and documenting technical engineering analysis and test results. Additionally, the engineer will prepare technical reports for certification compliance, support the build and operation of test platforms, and work within a multi-disciplinary team to resolve product engineering issues. Preparing design change modifications and optimized solutions, supporting production and in-service teams, and ensuring adherence to program schedules and milestones are also crucial aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
  • Ideally 5-8 years of relevant technical experience in an aerospace engineering field
  • Excellent knowledge of fluid flow and thermodynamic concepts.
  • Basic knowledge in the pneumatics field and interfacing technical disciplines such as system installation, avionics, power plant and others.
  • Familiarity with component qualification (DO-160, Mil-Std 810)
  • Familiarity with Design Process Assurance (ARP4754 A)
  • Knowledge in functional modeling and system performance testing
  • Comfortable with the technical aspects of engineering as well as project management
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Knowledge of system design tools such as Model Based Engineering or simulation software
  • Self-motivated, dynamic and a good communicator

Responsibilities

  • Define pneumatic system architecture, prepare specifications and requirements, conduct functional modeling and trade studies.
  • Ensure engineering requirements management, validation and verification
  • Manage suppliers from an engineering project and engineering technical perspective
  • Review and approve engineering design documents such as vendor drawings, test procedures, acceptance test procedures, qualification reports and certification documents
  • Document technical engineering analysis, ground, and flight test results
  • Prepare engineering technical reports to show compliance with the applicable certification requirements
  • Support the build and operation of test platforms (rigs, flight test vehicles)
  • Work within multi-disciplinary team to address product engineering definition or issue resolution
  • Prepare design change modifications and optimized solutions.
  • Support production and in-service teams in troubleshooting engineering systems related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to program schedule and milestones.
