About The Position

Ramboll is seeking an Air Quality Intern to join the firm’s offices in Los Angeles or Irvine, California, or Phoenix, Arizona in Spring/Summer 2027. This role is within the Air & Climate Service Line of Ramboll’s Environment & Health Division. The team consults with clients across various industries on topics including emissions estimation, air dispersion modeling, human health risk assessment, climate change, permitting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, enjoys thinking “outside-of-the-box,” can work in a team, apply analytical skills, and is looking to get their hands dirty.

Requirements

  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available.
  • Working towards a B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, or a science degree with air quality course work with a GPA of 3.4 or higher
  • Strong computing skills including high level use of spreadsheets and word processing
  • Strong written/verbal communication, problem-solving and organization skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret environmental regulations

Responsibilities

  • Preparing emissions calculations
  • Conducting air quality reviews of emissions reduction or control
  • Assisting in preparing major and minor source permit applications and environmental impact reports
  • Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations
