About The Position

We are currently seeking a Intermediate/Senior Air Quality Engineer to join our Atmospheric Services team. Our team specializes in in the atmospheric and acoustic solutions that safeguard both project compliance and community well-being. This is a new position and is based out of any of the following Ontario offices; Downtown Toronto, North York, Oakville, Hamilton, Guelph, Kitchener, London, Chatham, Windsor, Kingston or Ottawa. Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in your field or eligible to register.
  • A degree in environmental, chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven expertise in air quality, usually developed through 10+ years of experience in consulting or related fields, with a track record of technical leadership.
  • Experience in air quality related work is considered a must, including: an understanding of federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations pertaining to air quality including air approvals using standard and alternative methods, eg. site-specific standards, industry/technical standards, etc.
  • Experience preparing emission summary and dispersion modelling reports (ESDMs) and other air impact assessments to support ECAs, EASRs, and EAs.
  • Proven abilities in project teamwork, team leadership, and client relationship building.
  • Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary project teams and driving business development and growth.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in an environment that provides quality, solution-oriented consulting services.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GHG quantification, verification, and reporting is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with MECP's environmental land use planning guides (D-series Guidelines) and experience in the application of D-series Guidelines in land use compatibility assessments is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and drive the execution of high-value engineering solutions that position our firm as the premier technical partner for complex projects.
  • Diversify by collaborating with internal experts across environmental science, planning, and management to deliver holistic solutions that go beyond standard engineering.
  • Manage air quality projects for facilities (including oil and gas facilities, aggregate extraction and processing, power generation facilities, industrial/manufacturing facilities and municipal facilities), transportation projects, Land Use Compatibility assessments, etc.
  • Listen, interpret and understand client needs, and develop clear, science-based approaches to developing solutions that meet client expectations.
  • Empower teams to automate the routine so they can focus on high-value, creative problem-solving. Experiment with AI-enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design.
  • Proactively seek and cultivate new, long-term business opportunities that align with our sustainability goals and drive responsible growth.
  • Provide strategic leadership to strengthen and expand existing client relationships, with a focus on long-term partnerships and on developing strong, value-driven proposals and statements of qualification.
  • Travel to other Dillon offices as needed to support collaboration, share knowledge, and drive growth across the firm.
  • Commit to self-development, ongoing learning, and professional development.
  • Drive continuous learning and mentor junior staff in data science and digital project delivery methodologies, developing the next generation of tech-forward leaders.
