About The Position

The Air Melt Helper is responsible for the daily activity that involves helping the melters in Air Melt. To accomplish this requires skills and knowledge in related areas which may include, but are not limited to the following: small diameter, large diameter, materials/scrap yard. Moving product or material and use of a fork lift as needed. The Air Melt helper is expected to interact with other departments like production, sales, EH&S, Quality/Lab and/or clients. The helper is required to work continually in a challenging and fast paced environment. The candidate must be able to adjust priorities quickly, provide unequalled service and work with a sense of urgency. The job requires the routine application of a logical thought process to effectively carry out verbal and written instructions in a safe and effective manner. It also requires the routine application of knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and optimize the effectiveness of the product in the most efficient manner. The role involves routinely dealing with multiple job tasks, communicating with other departments and within production. After priorities are determined, the helper will work with the melter and team members to complete assigned tasks and report completion to the melter, team leader on duty or assistant production manager if necessary. The position also requires routinely identifying sources to optimize services in order to better serve the melters, improve product quality, and accomplish tasks within the stipulated timeframe.

Responsibilities

Assist melters in daily activities in Air Melt.
Move product or material.
Operate a forklift as needed.
Interact with other departments such as production, sales, EH&S, Quality/Lab, and clients.
Apply logical thought process to carry out instructions safely and effectively.
Troubleshoot and optimize product effectiveness efficiently.
Manage multiple job tasks and communicate with other departments and within production.
Complete assigned tasks with melter and team members after priorities are determined.
Report task completion to the melter, team leader, or assistant production manager.
Identify sources to optimize services for melters and product quality within timeframes.
