About The Position

Team member in our Air Intake Systems Design team, responsible for mounting design and packaging of the air intake system and supporting specification and validation. Components include the air cleaner and pre-cleaners, air restriction gauge, breaking joint seal, inside/outside air, and the ducting from the air cleaner to the turbo inlet. Key upcoming project is the development of a new air cleaner and mounting for PAR 47F, and customer support through several Quality topics. DTNA's Powertrain department within Product Engineering is a dynamic new product development group responsible for integration of powertrain systems, whether conventional or advanced technology. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar field, with 2-4 years of experience, is required.
  • Demonstrated CAD experience for part design, drawings, and layout work.
  • Documentation experience: part release, charting, etc.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at hand.
  • Strong written, verbal, or presentation skills.
  • Able to motivate self and collaborate well with others.
  • An attached resume is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Engineering tools: Engineering Client, IMACS+, ERS+.
  • Familiarity with CVDS deliverables and milestones.
  • Experience designing ducting, cast or stamped brackets, or plastic/rubber components.
  • Experience with CFD or fluid dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Current PAR work is focused on the new air cleaner and air intake systems in PAR 47F. This includes supporting supplier selection, component design and packaging, validation, and collaborating closely with hood, plenum, and HVAC Designers.
  • Work to support DSMs and customers on field issues and concerns, including several Quality topics on isolators and dust ingestion.
  • Innovate and collaborate on future projects including complexity and cost optimization, performance benchmarking, target setting, engine sign-off, NVH, and Quality improvements.
  • Responsible for meeting design deliverables for assigned projects with quality. Present status updates in TSMs or other forums when needed.
  • Design and validate safe, reliable, serviceable, and competitive designs.
  • Collaborate well with partners: Design, DTMX, Manufacturing, After-Market, Purchasing, EPM, PVE, Service.
  • Provide quality and timely solutions to production problems and field issues.
  • Participate in implementation of cross-functional ideas to continuously improve work environment, systems, tools, and processes as well as product cost and quality.
