About The Position

This position involves being a member of a five-man exercise USAF Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC), actively participating in scenario development to ensure appropriate air power integration. The role includes monitoring the conduct of CAS missions and writing analyses of those missions, as well as being responsible for multiservice air integration into JRTC scenarios. The individual will participate in rotational planning meetings to assist the Operations Group in integrating CAS into JRTC rotations. A key responsibility is replicating the functions of a CAOC, including the production of ATOs, ACOs, and SPINS, and processing pre-planned CAS requests. The Air Intelligence cell produces DISUMs, INTREPs, ELINTREPS, and daily updates to the enemy Order of Battle as necessary and distributes them to exercise players. The role also provides intelligence unit support to participating airlift and CAS platforms. Additionally, the position involves participating in rotational planning meetings, conducting briefings as required, and compiling After Action Review (AAR) inputs to Task Forces on USAF/CAS effects.

Requirements

  • Experience in preparation/executing/debriefing military exercise/training (such as JRTC rotations) and responsibilities.
  • Intelligence operations or aircrew experience in Close Air Support.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations.
  • Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in numbered Air Force or higher headquarters.
  • Experience working in an Air Operations Center or equivalent JRTC experience.
  • Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Completion of Air Command and Staff College or equivalent.
