Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Site Lead Are you interested in creating mission critical software to support our warfighter? We are looking to add an on-site technical lead for our Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) team supporting R&D efforts. Who Is DS2? Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited university with an MS degree in Civil, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or equivalent and at least 10 years of civil engineering-related RDT&E experience since graduation.
  • Is a U.S. Citizen and able to complete a U.S. government background investigation in order to obtain a security clearance.
  • Can conduct research to identify opportunities for innovation, analyze trends, review competitive solutions/products, and customer needs.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Is able to engage with teammates, both virtually and face-to-face, to plan projects, seek out or provide help on issues, as well as present solutions to clients.
  • Manages time well and can prioritize tasks to ensure projects are completed on time.

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience working with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), Department of War (DoW), or within the domains of unmanned systems, small unmanned aircraft systems, autonomous systems, robotic applications, rapid damage assessment, explosive ordnance disposal, AI, CE operations, etc.
  • Strong background in relevant R&D fields (e.g., engineering, science).
  • Have proven experience performing analysis of requirements and managing a team of software engineers.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers in the development of new products, technologies, and processes.
  • Have used Software Development Lifecycle tool suites like Azure DevOps or Atlassian
  • Received one or more Scrum, Microsoft, Google Developer certifications or any other technical certifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage the DS2 on-site presence at the Air Force Civil Engineering Center at Tyndall AFB.
  • Lead teams involved in work with Software Engineering, sUAS, robotics, and EOD missions.
  • Work directly with government customers and industry partners for the good of the R&D mission at AFCEC.
  • Conduct research, report on, and create proof-of-concepts and prototypes with development team for R&D projects.
  • Play a key role in designing, developing, deploying, and demonstrating applications.
  • Manage scheduling and operation of test events, including communication to government stakeholders and contractors.
  • Be a part of an agile team that works together to organize, manage, and complete their work on products.
  • Work with team to test, develop, peer review, and continuously integrate changes into the code base.
  • Work with remote team at DS2 headquarters to communicate stakeholder requirements.
  • Learn emerging technologies to keep you and your team as well equipped as possible.
