About The Position

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is looking for an Air Dominance Flight Test Operations Instrumentation Manager to join our team in Berkeley, MO. This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead the instrumentation team supporting a key Boeing proprietary program. The work scope requires comprehensive management of employees performing engineering and technical work scope in the area of test installations and architecture to include: requirements specific to test installations; design of test installations; supplier management of test parts procurement, fabrication and assembly; flight test installation design planning; instrumentation system integration verification; flight test support; coordination with key suppliers (SAFRAN, TTC, Calculex, etc); and Earned Value Management (EVM) oversight of work scope. The applicant will be responsible to develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Requirements

  • This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
  • 3+ years of experience supporting a military flight test program
  • 1+ years of experience in flight test, laboratory testing, data analysis, instrumentation, system integration, and/or simulation
  • Required business travel 10%

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a managerial or team lead role
  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) or experience creating estimates
  • Experience leading technical teams
  • Experience working on multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience as an Instrumentation Engineer, Test Requirements & Analysis Engineer, or Flight Test Engineer on a military test program
  • Experience with interfacing with test sites
  • Experience with Program Management Best Practices including: Requirements Management; Earned Value Management; and Risk/Issue/Opportunity Management
