About The Position

The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engagement Operations Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Acquisition Executive Fires (PEO Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The PO will be responsible for the Prioritization and validation of the development software for the Engagement team. The position will include reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms and providing guidance to the development team. The product owner will work with Program management in setting priorities for the capabilities and defects of the team for each product increment and sprint. The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on the status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of Engagement Operations (EO) concepts including engagement planning/scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.
  • Ability to provide oversight to an EO SW development team.
  • Ability to verify the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.
  • Ability to work directly with Agile software developers.
  • Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
  • US citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
  • Familiarity with current EO implementations in one or more of the DoD services.
  • Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritization and validation of development software for the Engagement team.
  • Reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms.
  • Providing guidance to the development team.
  • Working with Program management in setting priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint.
  • Providing technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.
  • Providing oversight to an EO SW development team.
  • Verifying the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.
  • Working directly with Agile software developers.
